We are able to offer home visits by appointment during the week. However, in many cases it is more appropriate to bring your pet to the surgery for assessment where we can if necessary, admit him or her for further tests and treatment. Home visits are not appropriate for the majority of emergencies other than in the extremely rare circumstances that the patient cannot be moved. If in doubt, please ring us to discuss.
Emergency home visits outside of normal working hours are more difficult to arrange as we have a limited number of vets available and we would urge you if possible to bring your pet in to us. When clients come in to us we can see cases quicker and reduce waiting times for all, a home visit may mean that a more urgent case has to wait unnecessarily. It will also normally work out cheaper to get a lift in, or even a taxi.
Please be aware that if the examination or treatment cannot be completed due to inability to restrain the animal in its home environment or there being inadequate space or lighting, the visit will still be charged for. We would appreciate it if you could make sure the animal is present and if necessary confined in an escape-proof room prior to our visit.
A deposit will be taken by credit card over the telephone at the time of booking and payment in full is expected at the conclusion of the visit.
