It is such an exciting event when a new puppy arrives in its family. After often several weeks of waiting, the newcomer is the centre of care and attention. These first weeks of life will to a large extent set the pattern for your pet´s behaviour in future years so it is important that you start off on the right foot. Educating your puppy right in the first place can help avoid a lot of upset in later life – it is easier to get the training right first time than to have to re-educate your dog when he is older.

Important things that must be learnt:

  • Toilet training
  • Simple commands
  • How to walk on a lead
  • How to behave when outside
  • How to deal with new and scary situations

At our Brackla branch we offer puppy socialisation classes. This is a chance for your puppy to learn how to interact with other animals in a safe and supervised environment and develop his rudimentary social skills. It is important that these are learnt during puppyhood as this time period sets the pattern for future interaction with other animals.

We can also advise on training methods and how to teach your puppy to cope with potentially scary situations such as fireworks. To book your place in a puppy class please phone our Brackla branch and speak to Kelly.
